About Me
Cecilia Lemos Coelho
Recife, PE, Brazil
I have been an English teacher for the past 17 years. I am a teacher because I believe in the transforming nature of education, I believe we can make a difference in the students' lives - even if just for a few of them. I teach at a Binational Center, and my students' ages range between 10 and 60. :-) I am in love with teaching, languages, books , music and art. I am a chronic insomniac, but since I read obssessively (an average of a book a week, more during breaks and vacations) the insomnia turns out to be handy! I have two fantastic, beautiful children. I believe education is the key to solving many of the problems we are facing these days.
I have recently discovered Twitter, the power of a PLN, blogs written by educators from all over the world and how both twitter and blogging are the most fantastic and fun way of Professional Development. And am thrilled to be part of this project!
"A teacher sees the world in a particular way, and it is not only when he is in a school. I am a teacher all the time." (Christopher Rogers)
