Nancy Hniedziejko
Welcome to my blog. This is a place for me to opine about Twitter, Teaching, Education, Reading Workshop, and of course, just write my random thoughts, which are many. (I'm very wordy!)
I have been a teacher my entire life. I can't remember a time when I wasn't a teacher.
I even started my own school in my backyard when I was in fourth grade. Imagine the surprise on my neighbors' faces when I showed up for a teacher conference. Being a teacher is who I am.
I have taught everything from four year olds through the college level. I've been a public school teacher, private school Head of School, tutor, traveling Reading Specialist and a Learning Center Director. Currently, I am teaching third grade in a private school. I love to research, design, and implement new curriculum.
My educational philosophy is simple: Start each day with enthusiasm, throw in a little flexibility, lots of laughter and remember to keep on learning with your students.
I am a voracious reader who typically reads more than one book at a time. I love to learn and I am working on my tolerance for others who don't have the same need to keep on growing and changing.
When I'm not researching the latest and newest teaching trends, hopping between by Mac and my PC, hanging out on Twitter, I find time to do anything I can with needle and thread, not well, but with enthusiasm. I'm all about the process - not the product!
